Motivation
Today, the technical revolution is rapidly changing our society and daily life. Many routines and even sophisticated career opportunities are being replaced with automation and artificial intelligence. We felt that it is imperative to help our children be ready and well-equipped for an even more rapidly changing future. Our children must be familiar with the concepts in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology and think critically about the world to make informed decisions about personal and societal issues. Literacy in these fields is also essential for an appreciation for the rapid expansion of human knowledge. Our children will not remain competitive without mastering these skills.
Mission
The mission of our program is to introduce 1) fundamental science research, 2) cutting-edge research topics, and 3) provide hands-on research knowledge and experiences in a variety of areas. We want to truely to elevate our childrens’ scientific and research maturity and capability. We promise to cultivate their research interests, enrich and grow their visions by providing early access to cutting-edge science and technology, use a hands-on approach to teach them how to master essential research methodologies and skills; teach them how to write a scientific paper and how to protect their intellectual property; finally and most importantly, instill research ethics and consider social values with research.
How
The Talented Youth Research Program (TYRP) consists of three phases. Collectively, these program phases bring a new level of rigor and training to previous versions of our high school training program and serve as a foundation for the future pursuit of STEM education for our students.
In the first phase, we will teach what science is about, world-wide research labs, and competition opportunities. With concrete case studies, we teach them the fundamentals of research methodology, philosophy, and how to carry out scientific research
In the second phase, we invite top scientists to introduce the fundamentals of cutting-edge critical technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Quantum computing, Genomics, and science for social good. We will teach them the advancements in those areas, their impact, the underlying scientific principles in their fields, outstanding problems, as well as research opportunities fitting for high school students.
In the final phase, based on the interests of the students, the students will have a chance to carry out independent research driven by their curiosity and passion. We will have different research tracks for our students. We will help them to connect to famous research universities, research institutes, and research scientists to get their projects. This goal is accomplished by having students design and perform their research projects as well as collect, analyze, and present their data. The final goal is to have their result be published, patented.
